History of educatiob is a research field situated at the intersection of educational sciences and history, and due to its interdisciplinary nature, it encompasses epistemological and methodological debates. While the number of educational history studies in Turkey is increasing, fundamental problems persist, such as working conditions, resources, methods and techniques, and publication channels. These problems are directly related to the institutionalization of the field of educational history. To draw attention to these issues, the History of Turkish Education Workshops III, themed "Educational Historiography, Founding Texts and Figures," was held on February 13, 2026, hosted by the Faculty of Education at Yıldız Technical University. The workshop primarily focused on critically evaluating the interdisciplinary nature of educational history writing, its development in European and Turkish contexts, and the founding texts and figures in Turkey. This study systematically presents the program, discussion topics, and conclusions reached at that workshop.
Özet
Eğitim tarihi, eğitim bilimleri ile tarih disiplinlerinin kesişiminde yer alan, disiplinlerarası niteliği gereği epistemolojik ve metodolojik tartışmaları bünyesinde barındıran bir araştırma alanıdır. Türkiye’de eğitim tarihi çalışmalarının sayısı artmakla birlikte, çalışma şartları, kaynaklar, yöntem ve teknikler, yayın mecraları gibi temel sorunlar devam etmektedir. Bu sorunlar eğitim tarihi alanının kurumsallaşmaya doğrudan ilgilidir. Bu meselelere dikkat çekmek amacıyla 13 Şubat 2026’da Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi ev sahipliğinde “Eğitim Tarihi Yazıcılığı, Kurucu Metinler ve Kişiler” temasıyla III. Türk Eğitim Tarihi Çalıştayı düzenlenmiştir. Çalıştayda öncelikle, eğitim tarihi yazımının disiplinlerarası doğası, Avrupa ve Türkiye bağlamındaki gelişimi ile Türkiye’deki kurucu metinler ve kişiler eleştirel bir perspektifle değerlendirilmiştir. Bu çalışma, söz konusu çalıştayın programını, tartışma başlıklarını ve ulaşılan sonuçları sistematik bir biçimde sunmaktadır.
