Abstract

In this study, the role of the Kyrgyz in the Khokand Khanate from the first quarter of the XVIIIth century to the last quarter of the 19th century was investigated. In the research, the positive or negative effects of Kyrgyz tribes and personalities in the khanate were tried to be revealed. At the beginning of the 18th century, the Khanate of Khokand, which was established by the Uzbek Ming dynasty centred in the Fergana Valley, became a common khanate established by the local peoples with the inclusion of the Kyrgyz in time. The Kyrgyz, who were especially effective in the military and political spheres, together with the Kipchaks, made developments that would affect the fate of the khanate. The 18th and 19th centuries have been one of the important phases in the political, social, economic and cultural life of the Kyrgyz society. In these periods, the Kyrgyz were first under the sovereignty of the Hokand Khanate and then under the sovereignty of the Russian Empire, and their socio-economic relations underwent changes. In addition, famous historical figures who tried to establish an independent state came to the fore from time to time among the Kyrgyz.
