Abstract

This study examines the growing significance of logistics corridors in the context of global power competition, as well as Turkey's utilisation of commercial diplomacy tools in this process. The comparative analysis of China's Belt and Road Initiative, the European Union's Global Gateway strategy, Russia's Northern Corridor and Turkey's Middle Corridor vision is informed by policy documents and official reports. The study also includes a case study of the Zangezur Corridor, evaluating its diplomatic, economic and security implications. The World Bank Logistics Performance Index (LPI) and UN Comtrade trade data were employed to evaluate the performance of the corridors and Turkey's standing in foreign trade relations. The findings reveal Turkey's potential to become a strategic hub for Eurasian trade via the Middle Corridor and Zangezur Corridor. However, realising this potential hinges on developing financing mechanisms, complying with international standards, and effectively implementing multilateral diplomatic strategies. The study emphasises the necessity for Turkey to pursue a multidimensional strategy based on commercial diplomacy.
