Abstract

This study examines the effects of depression, anxiety, stress, economic constraints, and perceived social support on marital satisfaction. Data collected from 402 married individuals aged 24 to 64, including 246 women and 156 men, from 58 provinces of Turkey were evaluated using the Marital Satisfaction Scale, Economic Constraints Scale, Depression Anxiety Stress Scale-21, and Multidimensional Perceived Social Support Scale. One-way ANOVA, independent samples t-test, Pearson correlation, and multiple regression analyses were applied. The findings indicate that depression and anxiety negatively affect marital satisfaction, while perceived social support has a positive effect. It was found that economic constraints and stress variables do not play a significant role in marital satisfaction. Additionally, it was found that individuals without children and those who married after a long period of dating have higher marital satisfaction. The results highlight that psychological and social factors play a critical role in marital satisfaction.

Özet

Bu çalışma, depresyon, anksiyete, stres, ekonomik kısıtlılıklar ve algılanan sosyal desteğin evlilik doyumu üzerindeki etkilerini incelemektedir. Türkiye’nin 58 ilinden 24 ile 64 yaşları arasında 246’sı kadın 156’sı erkek 402 evli bireyden toplanan veriler, Evlilik Doyumu Ölçeği, Ekonomik Kısıtlılıklar Ölçeği, Depresyon Anksiyete Stres Ölçeği -21, Çok Boyutlu Algılanan Sosyal Destek Ölçeği ile değerlendirilmiş. One Way ANOVA, bağımsız örneklem t-testi, Pearson korelasyon ve çoklu regresyon analizleri uygulanmıştır.
