Bu akımlar içerisinde ses getiren akımlardan birisi olan 1909 senesinde esasen şair olan Filippo Tommaso Marinetti tarafından ilan edilen fütürizm, yeni dünya düzenini destekleyerek geçmişten bugüne süregelen tüm sanat anlayışlarını reddetmiştir. Çalışma, bir fütürist sanatçı olan Umberto Boccioni’yi, fütürizme damga vuran, eserlerinde yakaladığı dinamizmi, hızı ve devinimi anlatma biçimini gösteren eserlerini ve dönemin İtalya’sının toplumsal olarak ne durumda olduğunu incelemektedir.
