Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to examine the ecofeminist approach from the perspective of the woman-nature relationship and social justice. Ecofeminism offers an interdisciplinary field of thought and action that critiques patriarchal and capitalist systems by making visible the historical, cultural, and structural links between the domination of nature and the social oppression applied to women. Accordingly, the study addresses the historical development and theoretical foundations of ecofeminism; and analyzes the roles of women in environmental struggles and their positions in social transformation processes within the framework of liberal, cultural, socialist, queer, and vegan ecofeminist approaches. The study was conducted using an interdisciplinary and qualitative method through literature review, historical-philosophical analysis, and theoretical comparisons. Furthermore, the practical manifestations of ecofeminism are evaluated through examples of environmental resistance such as the Chipko Movement, the Gezi Park protests, and the Akkuyu Anti-Nuclear Struggle. The findings show that women, in line with ecofeminist consciousness, participate in environmental resistance processes both as victims of structural inequalities and as active agents transforming these inequalities. In conclusion, the study reveals that the effects of the climate crisis create vulnerabilities that differ by intersecting with gender, class, ethnicity, and spatial inequalities; in this context, it emphasizes that climate justice should be addressed from a feminist perspective that centers women's daily life experiences, invisible care labor, and qualitative participation in decision-making processes. It concludes that this approach contributes to a vision of a just, equitable, and sustainable society by strengthening women's struggle for social and environmental equality. Keywords: Ecofeminism, Women, Nature, Social Justice, Environmental Resistance
