Abstract
This research aims to develop a measurement tool that is structured to determine the levels of Machiavellianism of athletes and whose validity and reliability evidence has been verified within the scope of this study. The study group of the research consists of 206 students studying at Artvin Çoruh University and Ordu University Faculty of Sport Sciences in the 2025-2026 academic year. In the scale development process, a candidate item pool of 49 items was prepared by reviewing the relevant literature in the first stage and content validity was ensured in line with expert opinions. A 25-item draft form was created as a result of the pilot application on a group of 50 participants; this form was applied to the sample group of 206 participants. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) were conducted on the data to determine construct validity. The results of the analysis confirmed the final structure of the scale consisting of three sub-dimensions, manipulation, skepticism and sportsmanship, and a total of 15 items. The statistical findings revealed that the “Machiavellianism in Sport Scale” is a valid and reliable measurement tool for measuring the Machiavellian tendencies of athletes in scientific studies in the field of sport sciences.

Bu araştırma, sporcuların makyavelizm düzeylerini belirlemek amacıyla yapılandırılan, geçerlik ve güvenirlik kanıtları bu çalışma kapsamında doğrulanmış bir ölçme aracı geliştirme amacını taşımaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu, 2025-2026 eğitim-öğretim yılı içerisinde Artvin Çoruh Üniversitesi ve Ordu Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültelerinde öğrenim gören 206 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Ölçek geliştirme sürecinde, ilk aşamada ilgili alan yazın taranarak 49 maddelik bir aday madde havuzu hazırlanmış ve uzman görüşleri doğrultusunda kapsam geçerliği sağlanmıştır. 50 kişilik bir grup üzerinde gerçekleştirilen pilot uygulama neticesinde 25 maddelik taslak form oluşturulmuş; bu form 206 katılımcıdan oluşan örneklem grubuna uygulanmıştır. Yapı geçerliğini saptamak amacıyla veriler üzerinde Açımlayıcı Faktör Analizi (AFA) ve Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) işlemleri yürütülmüştür. Analiz sonuçları; ölçeğin manipülasyon, şüphecilik ve sportmenlik olmak üzere üç alt boyuttan ve toplam 15 maddeden oluşan nihai yapısını doğrulamıştır. Elde edilen istatistiksel bulgular, "Sporda Makyavelizm Ölçeği"nin spor bilimleri alanında yapılacak bilimsel çalışmalarda sporcuların makyavelist eğilimlerini ölçmek için geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır.
