Abstract

This research aims to examine the difficulties employees face during the remote work process from an experience-based perspective. The remote work model, which became widespread during the COVID-19 pandemic, provides benefits such as flexibility, improved time management, and accessibility, but it has also led employees to face various challenges related to their psychosocial well-being and work life. In this context, the study adopted a qualitative research approach, conducting semi-structured interviews with remote workers from various sectors. The collected data were systematically analyzed using thematic analysis. The analysis identified key themes, including difficulties in balancing work and personal life, digital burnout, communication gaps, challenges in performance management, a decline in organizational belonging, and inadequate psychological support. The research findings suggest that remote work is not merely limited to technical infrastructure and processes; it also requires attention to employees’ psychosocial needs and their work-life experiences. This study provides guidance for developing policies and practices that prioritize employee well-being and for implementing remote work in a sustainable manner.
