Abstract

This study aims to establish, within a theoretical framework, the necessity of a strategic public relations approach and social impact analysis in the sustainability communication process. Sustainability is a multi-layered concept that seeks to establish a balance among social, environmental, economic, and cultural dimensions and ensure the continuity of this balance. This process is built on the principles of transparency, accountability, participation, and consistency. Public relations, meanwhile, plays a crucial role in establishing communication with stakeholders, building trust, creating social value, and strategically managing the sustainability narrative. As a discipline that embodies the power of communication management, public relations creates a significant sphere of influence in transforming sustainability communication into an effective, reliable, and socially responsive structure. To ensure that sustainability communication does not remain merely at the rhetorical level but instead fosters social awareness and generates actionable outcomes, it must be addressed through social impact analysis. This study argues that for sustainability communication to be effective, the public relations perspective and social impact analysis must be considered together, and that this synergy is decisive in terms of organizational legitimacy, social trust, and the creation of sustainable value.
