Bu çalışma, Tanin gazetesinin 1909 Adana Olayları’na bakış açısını, yayın politikasını ve gazete haberlerinin okuyucuya nasıl sunulduğunu incelemektedir. Çalışma, 1909 Adana Olayları’nın sebeplerini ve sorumlularını, İstanbul’a yansımalarının nasıl olduğunu, bu konudaki art niyetli yayınların nasıl bilgi kirliliğine yol açtığını, Osmanlı Devleti, Ermeniler ve Türkler açısından yaşanan çelişki ve çekişmeleri Tanin gazetesi üzerinden anlamlandırmayı amaçlamaktadır. Tanin gazetesi, haberlerinde kışkırtıcılıktan uzak durulmuş, taraflardan hiçbiri peşinen suçlu veya masum ilan edilmemiş, olayların aydınlatılması adına izlenmesi gereken yolun şeffaf bir süreç ile mümkün olacağı belirtilmiştir. 1909 Adana Olayları’nı yakından takip eden dünya kamuoyunun, meselenin hakkaniyetle çözüleceğine dair inancının ancak böyle sağlanacağı dile getirilmiştir.
