Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the perceptions of educational stakeholders administrators, teachers, students, and parents regarding the ideal student. The research was conducted using a qualitative phenomenological design. The study group consisted of 10 school administrators, 10 teachers, 14 students, and 9 parents affiliated with a secondary school. Participants were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a semi-structured interview form and analyzed through content analysis. Attributes such as responsibility, self-control, academic success, curiosity, research-oriented thinking, inquiry, morality, communication skills, empathy, and holistic development were universally valued. However, distinct emphases were observed among the groups: administrators placed particular importance on leadership and national values; teachers emphasized critical thinking, research, problem-solving, national values, interest in societal issues, and environmental awareness; students focused on attentiveness in class, consistent study habits, self-discipline, and a love for nature; and parents highlighted sociability and the development of diverse interests and abilities alongside personal and academic qualities. A notable finding of the study is that students tended to focus on practical goals such as classroom engagement, while teachers emphasized higher-order skills like critical thinking.
