\r\n The aim of this study is to find out the summary writing strategies that teacher trainees of English use while they are writing summaries. Literature review and questionnaire technique were used to realize the aims of the study.Sample of the study is a total of 50 second year students at English Language Teaching department at Gazi University. \r\n Bu araştırma İngilizce öğretmen adaylarının özetleme stratejilerini ne şekilde kullandıklarını belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma tarama modeli kapsamında yer alan literatür tarama ve anket tekniği kullanılarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada Gazi Üniversitesi, Gazi Eğitim Fakültesi, İngilizce Öğretmenliği Bölümü 2’nci sınıfta öğrenim gören 50 öğrenci araştırma kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre katılımcıların özetleme stratejilerine yönelik tercihleri belirlenmiş, eksikleri ve zayıf noktaları tespit edilmiş ve gerekli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.\r\n
