Abstract
The indicator of the extent to which the knowledge obtained in geography lessons at high schools is learned is the frequency at which it is used. Students are relatively efficient at basic geographical skills to be used in daily life. So much more importance must be given to the topics about the local environment and research excursions in order that students can use these skills efficiently.

Coğrafya derslerinde edinilen bilgilerin, ne derece öğrenildiğinin göstergesi günlük hayatta kullanılma sıklıklarıdır. Lise öğrencileri günlük hayatta kullanılabilecek temel coğrafi beceriler konusunda “kısmen” yeterlidirler. Bu becerilerin kullanılması konusunda öğrencilerin daha yeterli olması için derslerde yakın çevre konularına ve araştırma gezilerine daha fazla önem verilmelidir
