Abstract
Improving the classroom practices and increasing student success in these classrooms have been the aim of many researchers and practicioners today. In this conten, the purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of summarizing technique on undergraduate students’ achievement. This research adopts the experimental model. Six classes were randomly assigned and composed of 260 students participated in the experiment in the second term of 2017-2018 academic year. The treatment lasted for 14 weeks. The results showed that there was a significant difference the experimental and control groups in respect of the effect of summarizing technique.
Özet
Birçoğumuz, sınıflarımızı geliştirmek ve derslerimizde öğrenci başarısını artırmak için yeni yaklaşımlar ve sınıf stratejileri deniyoruz. Bu bağlamda, çalışmanın amacı özetleme tekniğinin lisans öğrencilerinin başarısı üzerindeki etkilerini araştırmaktır. Bu araştırmada deneysel model kullanılmıştır. 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılının ikinci döneminde Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi Ahmet Keleşoğlu Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim gören 260 öğrenciden oluşan random yöntemi ile belirlenmiş olan altı sınıf katılmıştır. Deney 14 hafta sürmüştür. Sonuç olarak, deney ve kontrol grupları arasında özetleme tekniğinin etkisi bakımından önemli bir fark olduğu görülmüştür.
