Comparison of Secondary Education Foundations and Private Education Institutions According to Chemistry Teaching

Orta Öğretim Kurumlarının ve Özel Dersanelerin Kimya Öğretimine Yönelik Karşılaştırılması

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the teaching given in secondary education foundations and university entrance examination courses and to investigate the causes of the students attending these courses. For this purpose, a questionnaire consist of 22 items was developed and implemented to 100 students enrolled in the private education institutions (PEI). In addition, interviews were conducted to 8 chemistry teachers worked in schools, and 2 teachers from PEI, 2 teachers from schools were observed during in-class activities. As a result of the study, it is found out that students prefer private education institutions due to reasons such as teachers’ interaction with students individually, the program applied in the study are directly related to the University Selection Examination..

Özet

Bu çalışmada ortaöğretim kurumlarında ve dershanelerde verilen kimya öğretiminin karşılaştırılması ve öğrencilerin dershanelere yönelme sebeplerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla, özel durum yaklaşımı kapsamında veri toplamak için 22 sorudan oluşan bir anket geliştirilerek 100 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Ayrıca, ortaöğretim kurumlarında görev yapan toplam 8 kimya öğretmeni ile mülakatlar yapılmış ve 2 dershane, 2 okul öğretmeninin dersleri gözlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenlerin öğrencilerle birebir ilgilenmeleri ve dershanelerde uygulanan programların doğrudan ÖSS’ye yönelik olması gibi etkenler öğrencilerin özel dershanelere yönelme nedenleri olarak tespit edilmiştir.
