Determining of teacher candidates level of knowledge on the issue of plant respiration-photosynthesis through concept cartoons and its analysis depending on different variables

Abstract
The aim of this present study is to determine the level of knowledge of the science-technology teacher candidates on the issue of plant respiration and pho tosynthesis throughconcept cartoon s. And , the knowledge level of the participants on the issue is examined interms of different variables , such as grade level and type of education. The method of thestudy is the survey method, which is one of the qualitative researc h methods. For thispurpose, the sample of the study consists of 192 science and technology teachercandidates studying at Celal Bayar University. The c oncept cartoon s test was used as thedata gathering tool. When the findings of the study were examined, it was seen thatteacher candidates level of knowledge was higher on the issues of the requiredc onditions for photosynthesislight and plant respiration at nightthe photosynthesisprocess . In the light of these results, certain sugg estions are made about the use ofconcept catooons.
Özet
Yapılan çalışmada; fen ve teknoloji öğretmen adaylarının bitkilerde solunum-fotosentezkonusundaki bilgi düzeylerinin kavram karikatürleri yardımıyla belirlenmesi ve sınıfdüzeyi, öğrenim türü gibi farklı değişkenlere göre incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmada;nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Bu amaçla çalışmaya, CelalBayar Üniversitesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 192 fen ve teknoloji öğretmen adayıkatılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak kavram karikatürü testi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilenbulgular incelendiğinde; fen ve teknoloji öğretmen adaylarının bilgi düzeylerinin,konununfotosentez olayı için gerekli koşullar-ışık vegeceleri bitkilerde solunum-fotosentez olayıalt başlıklarında daha yüksek olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Bu sonuçlardanyola çıkarak, kavram karikatürlerinin kullanıma ilişkin bazı önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
