Abstract

Considering its development in the historical process, the transcription method showed its most significant improvement during the Romantic period. The popular works are arranged for different instruments according to the instrument technique features. It can be said that through the transcriptions, the works composed for one instrument are not limited to that particular instrument, but are performed with other instruments enabling the work to be heard and recognized by a wider audience. The piano works of Frédéric Chopin, one of the most important composers of the period, have been adapted to other instruments by many composers by emphasizing the tonal characteristics of various instruments. The purpose of this research is to examine the transcriptions of Chopin's Nocturne Works fort he violin-piano in the Romantic period and to investigate the composers and performers who have made these transcriptions. For this purpose, the study group of the research is Adolf Grünwald, Károly Huber, Friedrich Hermann, Camille Saint Saëns, Adolf Gustaw Sonnenfeld, Fabian Rehfeld, Pablo de Sarasate, Richard Hofmann, August Wilhelmj, Emil Kross, Leopold Auer and Bronisław Huberman; the study works are the transcriptions of Chopin's Nocturne works. Descriptive research techniques were used in this qualitative study. Research data were accessed through document review and data were analyzed through descriptive analysis method.

Tarihsel süreç içerisindeki gelişimi ile ele alındığında, transkripsiyon metodunun romantikdönemde büyük bir gelişim gösterdiği söylenebilir. Popüler hale gelmiş eserler, çalgıtekniği özelliklerine göre farklı çalgılar için düzenlenmiştir. Transkripsiyonların, bir çalgıiçin bestelenmiş eserlerin o çalgı ile sınırlı kalmayıp başka çalgılarda da seslendirilerek,daha geniş kitlelerce duyulması ve tanınmasını sağladığı söylenebilir. Dönemin önemlibestecilerinden Frédéric Chopin’in piyano eserleri de birçok besteci tarafından çeşitliçalgıların tınısal özellikleri ön plana çıkarılarak başka çalgılara uyarlanmıştır. Buaraştırmanın amacı, romantik dönemde Chopin’in Nocturne eserlerinin keman-piyano içinyapılmış transkripsiyonların incelenmesi ve bu transkripsiyonları yapmış olan besteci veicracıların araştırılması olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda araştırmanın çalışmagrubunu Adolf Grünwald, Károly Huber, Friedrich Hermann, Camille Saint Saëns, AdolfGustaw Sonnenfeld, Fabian Rehfeld, Pablo de Sarasate, Richard Hofmann, AugustWilhelmj, Emil Kross, Leopold Auer ve Bronisław Huberman; çalışma eserlerini iseChopin’in Nocturne eserlerinin transkripsiyonları oluşturmaktadır. Nitel bir çalışma olan buaraştırmada betimsel araştırma teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerine dokümaninceleme yolu ile ulaşılmış ve veriler betimsel analiz yöntemi ile incelenmiştir.
