AN INVESTIGATION ON THE TERMS WHICH TAKE PLACE IN THE COURSE BOOKS USED TO TEACH TURKISH TO FOREIGNERS

YABANCILARA TÜRKÇE ÖĞRETİMİ DERS KİTAPLARINDA YER ALAN TERİMLER ÜZERİNE BİR İNCELEME

Abstract

The aim of this study is to see the term teaching in the textbooks used in teaching Turkish to foreigners and in this way to determine how much space is given to the terms that meet the concepts that the learners will be exposed to in their daily life. A comparison of the textbooks with regard to the terms covered by three sets of publications shall lead in terms of revealing the most efficient and effective term teaching publication set. The data source of the study consists of fourteen textbooks which are prepared for teaching Turkish to foreigners: Yedi İklim Türkçe, Yeni Hitit Yabancılar İçin Türkçe, Gazi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe. The textual and non-textual terms in the textbooks Yedi İklim Türkçe, A1-A2-B1-B2-C1- C2, Yeni Hitit Yabancılar İçin Türkçe 1 (A1-A2), 2 (B1), 3 (B2-C1), Gazi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe teaching sets for foreigners A1-A2-B1-B2-C1 were analyzed by descriptive analysis. The terms obtained are classified according to the areas of expertise. Thus, the terms that are aimed to be acquired in the mother tongue teaching and tried to be transferred to the student with the textbooks used in general language teaching were determined and the three teaching sets belonging to different publications were evaluated and compared. As a result, the set of publications with the most terms is Yedi İklim Türkçe for foreigners. The levels with most terms was determined as follows; C2 at Seven Climate set, B1 at Yeni Hitit Yabancılar İçin Türkçe set, C1 at Gazi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe. At the end of the evaluation of these three sets with regard to the terms, it is obvious that they differ both quantitatively and qualitatively

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı yabancılara Türkçe öğretiminde kullanılan ders kitaplarındaki terim öğretimini değerlendirmek ve bu yolla öğrenicilerin günlük yaşamlarında hedef dilde maruz kalacakları kavramları karşılayan terimlere ne kadar yer verildiğini belirlemektir. Üç yayın seti kapsamında ele alınan ders kitaplarının terimler açısından karşılaştırılması; en verimli ve etkili terim öğretimini gerçekleştiren yayın setinin ortaya konması açısından yol gösterici olacaktır. Araştırmanın veri kaynağını yabancılara Türkçe öğretimi için hazırlanan Yedi İklim Türkçe, Yeni Hitit Yabancılar İçin Türkçe, Gazi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe Öğretim Setlerini oluşturan on dört ders kitabı oluşturmaktadır. Yedi İklim A1-A2-B1-B2-C1-C2, Yeni Hitit 1 (A1-A2), 2 (B1), 3 (B2-C1), Gazi Yabancılar İçin Türkçe A1-A2-B1- B2-C1 ders kitaplarında metinlerde ve metin dışında yer alan terimler betimsel analiz yöntemiyle çözümlenmiştir. Elde edilen terimler uzmanlık alanları doğrultusunda sınıflandırılmıştır. Böylece anadili öğretimde kazandırılması hedeflenen ve genel dil öğretiminde kullanılan ders kitaplarıyla öğrenciye aktarılmaya çalışılan terimler belirlenmiş ve farklı yayınlara ait üç öğretim seti karşılaştırılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Sonuç olarak en fazla terimin yer aldığı yayın seti Yedi iklim Yabancılar İçin Türkçe‟dir. Yine en fazla terimin yer aldığı düzeyler; Yedi İklim setinde C2, Yeni Hitit setinde B1, Gazi Yabancılar İçin Türkçede C1 olarak belirlenmiştir. Anılan bu üç setin terimler bağlamında değerlendirilmesi sonucunda hem nicel hem de nitel olarak farklılık gösterdikleri görülmüştür.
