Abstract

In this study, Cyprinus carpio was fed with mannan oligosaccharide (MOS) supplemented diet (0.25% 0.50% the proportion of MOS) for 60 days. The effects of MOS on growth parameters (live weight gain, specific growth rate, feed convertion ratio) and lysozyme activity were investigated. Better growth performance was observed in 0.25% MOS group when compared to other groups (P<0.05). There was no significant difference of growth performance in 0.50% MOS group compared to the control group (P>0.05). Dry matter, lipid and ash contents of MOS groups were not significant compared to control group. But, crude protein content was lower in 0.50% MOS group. Lysozyme activity was significantly increased (P<0.05) by MOS concentrations in two experimental groups when compared to control.
