Abstract
Aim: To evaluate the relationship between the professional values and attitudes of nursing students. Method: The sample of the descriptive-cross-sectional study consisted of 415 students studying in the nursing department of a faculty between March-May 2019. The data were collected with "Descriptive Characteristic Form”, "Professional Values Scale(PVS)-Revised" and "Student Nurses Professional Attitude Scale (SNPAS)". Descriptive statistics were presented with number percentage distribution and median. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney U test, Kruskal Wallis test, Spearman correlation coefficient. Results: Of the students, 338 (81.45%) were female and 133 (32.05%) were second-year. The students’ PVS-Revised mean score was 101.83±19.42, and their SNPAS the mean score was 107.31±17.21. A significant difference was in terms of SNPAS (p<0.001 and p=0.002, respectively) and PVS-Revised (p=0.010 and p<0.001, respectively) scores according to gender and class of them. A significant positive correlation was between the students' SNPAS and PVS-Revised scores (p<0.001, r=0.460). Conclusion: The students' SNPAS and PVS-Revised scores were good. As the students' PVS-Revised scores increased, their SNPAS scores increased. The scores of males and fourth-class students’ the scales were lower. According to this; It is recommended to support male students to increase their value perceptions and attitudes towards the profession in a positive way, and to conduct new research on the factors that may cause a decrease in the fourth grade students' value perception and professional attitudes towards the profession.

Amaç: Çalışmanın amacı, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin profesyonel değerleri ve tutumları arasındaki ilişkiyi değerlendirmektir. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı-kesitsel tipteki araştırmanın örneklemini, Mart-Mayıs 2019 tarihlerinde bir fakültenin hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim gören 415 öğrenci oluşturdu. Veriler, “Tanıtıcı Özellikler Formu”, “Hemşirelerin Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği (HPDÖ)-Revize” ve “Öğrenci Hemşirelere Yönelik Profesyonellik Tutum Ölçeği (ÖHYPTÖ)” kullanılarak toplandı. Verilerin tanımlayıcı istatistikleri sayı yüzde dağılımı ve medyan ile sunuldu. Veriler, Mann-Whitney U testi, Kruskal Wallis testi, Spearman korelasyon katsayısı ile analiz edilerek değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Öğrencilerin 338 (%81.45)’i kadın ve 133 (%32.05)’ü ikinci sınıf öğrencisiydi.
