Abstract
Maritime transport occupies an important place in today's world. Many countries in the world are trying to establish themselves in maritime transport. Due to the importance of maritime transport, the study analyzed the maritime transport sector of selected European countries. Promethee, which belongs to the methods of multi-criteria decision making, was used for the analysis. Promethee is a model that evaluates more than one alternative according to more than one criterion. 24 European countries for which data are available were included in the evaluation. These countries were evaluated on 5 different criteria. The result of the evaluation shows that the country that performs best on the criteria is Italy. Italy is followed by Spain and Germany. The last three places are Slovenia, Bulgaria and Montenegro. The study is important to show the performance of the maritime sector in 24 European countries.

Deniz taşımacılığı günümüz dünyasında önemli bir yere sahiptir. Dünya çapında birçok ülke deniz taşımacılığında kendilerine yer edinmeye çalışmaktadır. Deniz taşımacılığının öneminden hareketle çalışmada seçili Avrupa ülkelerinin deniz taşımacılık sektörü analiz edilmiştir. Analizde Çok Kriterli Karar Verme yöntemleri arasında bulunan Promethee kullanılmıştır. Promethee birden fazla alternatifi birden fazla kriter çerçevesinde değerlendiren bir modeldir. Değerlendirmeye verilerine ulaşılabilen 24 Avrupa ülkesi dahil edilmiştir. Bu ülkeler 5 farklı kriter çerçevesinde analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucunda kriterlere göre en iyi durumda olan ülkenin İtalya olduğu görülmektedir. İtalya’yı İspanya ve Almanya takip etmektedir. Son üç sırada ise Slovenya, Bulgaristan ve Karadağ bulunmaktadır. Çalışma, 24 Avrupa ülkesinin denizcilik sektörünün performansını ortaya koyması açısından önem taşımaktadır.
