It is expected that individuals who have made the right career plans during their training and have received training that contributes to their career development will be more successful in their work. The success of the employee directly impacts the success of the company. The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of the Faculty of Physical Education students about their career, their clear goals in choosing a career, their beliefs about their skills and occupations, the adequacy of the education they received, and their thoughts about the correctness of their career choice. As a result of the study, it was found that career awareness was high on average among athletic training faculty students who provide workforce for the athletic industry, and that there were differences in terms of class and department variables. It is believed that the study will help the sports industry, which is a growing industry, in the selection of its workforce. It will also shed light on whether courses and training should be offered to provide career awareness to athletic training students during their education.

Spor endüstrisi içinde işletmelerin büyümesi, gelişmesi ve rekabet ortamı içinde ayakta kalabilmesi; kar oranları, verimlilik düzeyleri gibi ekonomik çıktıların sonucundan önemli oranda etkilenir. Fakat bu çıktıların spor işletmesi için olumlu olması işletme çalışanlarının yeterlilikleri, bilgi düzeyleri ve çalışma performanslarının iyi oluşuyla yakından ilgilidir. Eğitim aldıkları dönemde kariyer planlarını doğru yapmış ve kariyer gelişimlerine katkı sunacak eğitimler almış bireylerin, yaptıkları işte daha başarılı olmaları beklenir. Çalışanın başarısı işletmenin başarısına doğrudan yansır. Bu araştırmada, spor bilimleri fakültesinde eğitim gören öğrencilerin kariyerleri ile ilgili farkındalıkları, kariyer seçimlerinde net hedefleri, yetenekleri ve meslekleri ile ilgili inançları, almış oldukları eğitimin yeterliliği ve mesleki seçimlerinin doğruluğu ile ilgili düşüncelerinin araştırılması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda, spor endüstrisine insan gücü kaynağı sağlayan spor bilimleri fakültelerinde eğitim gören öğrencilerin kariyer planlama farkındalık ortalamaları yüksek bulunmuş, sınıf ve bölüm değişkeni açısından farklılıklar tespit edilmiştir. Çalışmanın büyüyen bir endüstri olan spor endüstrisi işletmelerine elaman seçiminde yol gösterici olacağı, ayrıca spor bilimleri fakültesi öğrencilerine, eğitimlerini alırken kariyer farkındalığı yaratacak ders ve eğitimler verilmesi hususunda ışık tutacağı düşünülmektedir.
