Abstract

The aim of this study is to compare the cash flow profiles of companies in 8 selected G20 countries, based on countries, sectors, and years, in order to identify prevalent business types. For this purpose, 50,910 observations of cash flow statements of 5,091 companies are examined for the years 2012-2022. The findings reveal that the most common profile across the countries is Model 6, Start-up/Young Businesses, while the least observed profile is Model 1, Stagnant Businesses. The countries deviating from this general pattern are the United Kingdom and Turkey for which Model 2, Successful Businesses is the most prevalent profile.
