Peripheral ossifying fibromas are painless and are missed by physicians until they give symptoms. It is thought to originate from the periodontal ligament and occurs as an overreaction of 9% of the gum. Poor restorations and local irritations are shown as reasons. These local irritations include trauma, dental plaque, dental calculus, microorganisms, dental prosthesis. It was believed that some peripheral ossifying fibroma developed from pyogenic granulomas due to the presence of many similarities clinically and histopathologically and with fibrous maturation and subsequent calcifications. In this case report, a 38-year-old female patient was noticed in the right mandibular premolar region in the mouth, while the lesion was 12 weeks pregnant.however, the lesion had a hard consistency with the maturation of the fibrous tissue upon neglect of the patient. The diagnosis and surgical treatment of peripheral ossified fibroma are presented as a result of clinical and histopathological examination of the swelling.
