Abstract

The purpose of this cross-sectional, retrospective study is to conduct a bibliometric investigation of the authors and the articles that were published in the ADO Journal of Clinical Sciences which is the official scientific journal of Ankara Chamber of Dentists, and to create a scientific “road map”. In this study, the electronic copies of the articles published in the twenty issues included in the five volumes of ADO Journal of Clinical Sciences were reviewed. Articles were classified according to the type of the article, and the most favorite research topics, number of references and language of the articles were identified. The number of authors, the authors’ institutions and specialty areas were noted. Frequency distribution was used for statistical analysis. There were forty one research articles, ninety four reviews, sixty nine case reports and one letter to the editor. Nineteen of the research articles were multidisciplinary studies and three articles were in English. The mean number of references per article was 30.2. Analysis of the keywords showed that most of the studies were focused on dental implants and composite resins. Most of the articles were written by two authors. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons accounted for the highest percentage of the authors and this was followed by Prosthodontists. The majority of authors were working at the dentistry faculties in Ankara. In this study, the first step of bibliometric analysis of ADO Journal of Clinical Sciences from the day of its first issue to the present was made using quantitative evaluation methods

Makalelerin kırk biri araştırma, doksan dördü derleme, altmış dokuzu olgu raporu ve biri editöre mektuptu; araştırma makalelerinin on dokuzu multidisiplinerdi; üçünün dili İngilizce, diğerleri Türkçe’ydi.
