Abstract

Phantom tumor or vanishing tumor is the name given to the temporary pleural effusion in the interlobar fissure generally occurring due to congestive heart failure. Since its radiologic image appears like malignancy, it may cause confusion in diagnosis. In this paper, a phantom tumor in a 81-year-old male patient presented with weight loss, weakness and dyspnea is discussed with current literature data

Özet

Fantom tümörü veya vanishing (buharlaşan) tümörler genellikle konjestif kalp yetmezliğine bağlı olarak interlobar fissürde geçici plevral efüzyon toplanmasına verilen addır. Radyolojik görüntüsü malignitelere benzediğinden tanıda karışıklığa neden olabilir. Bu yazıda kliniğimize aşırı kilo kaybı, halsizlik ve nefes darlığı şikayetleri ile başvuran 81 yaşında erkek hastada tespit edilen fantom tümörü güncel literatür eşliğinde tartışılmıştır
