Abstract

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy of limbal-conjunctival autograft transplantation technique on recurrence in the cases with recurrent pterygium. Methods: Nine eyes of 9 patients with recurrent pterygium (> 3mm) were operated by limbal-conjunctival autograft transplantation technique after simple excision. Results: During the 16 months follow up of nine patients (3 female and 6 male, average age 48 years) neither recurrence nor any complication were observed. Conclusions: In the cases with recurrent pterygium after primary surgery, limbal-conjunctival autograft transplantation technique was found to be a succesful and reliable method.
