Abstract

Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is a condition characterised by raised intracranial pressure with its associated symptoms and signs in the absence of an intracranial mass or hydro-cephalus and normal cerebrospinal fluid. Idiopathic intracranial hypertension is a disease which should be considered in the diagnosis löngterm headaches especially in young, obese women. Intracranial mass or cerebrospinal diseases which may cause cerebrospinal fluid obstruction and localized neurological deficits should be ruled out in the differential diagnosis. The paralysis of some cranial nerves may occasionally associate with IIH. In this case report, we presented a 42-year old woman with the diagnosis of idiopathic intracranial hypertension and associated unila¬teral facial paralysis.
