Abstract

Objective:To study the effectiviness of a 2% intrauterine lidocaine anesthesia for pain relief during endometrial biopsy. Materials and Methods: A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial of 60 women receiving either a 3-ml 2% lidocaine (n=30) or saline (n= 30) before endometrial biopsy. The primary outcome was the maximum pain score measured with a 10-cm visual anolog scale. Statistical analysis was performed using Student t Mann-Whitney U test and2 test. Results: The 2 groups were comparable in age, parity, education, menopausal status, socioeconomic status, tenaculum use, history of dismenorrhea, history of chronic pelvic pain, and prior curettage. Pain scores demonstrated a significant difference between groups during endometrial biopsy (saline 6.83 ± 1.42, lidocaine 5.11 ± 0.52, pO.OOOl), immediately after (saline 5.90 ± 1.14, Iidocaine4.42±0.44,p

Bulgular: Her iki grup yaş, parite, eğitim, menopozal durum, sosyoekonomik durum, servikal tenekulum kullanımı, dismenore hikayesi, kronik pelvik ağrı hikayesi ve önceki kuretaj öyküsü varlığı yönünden karşılaştırıldı. Ağrı skorları endometriyal biyopsi sırasında(salin 6.83 ± 1.42, lidokain 5.11 ± 0.52, pO.0001), hemen sonrasında (şalin 5.90 ± 1.14, lidokain 4.42 ±0.44, pO.0001), ve 30 dakika sonrasmda( şalin 4.70 ±0.72, lidokain 3.80±0.62,p
