Abstract

A 26-year old nulliparous patient was diagnosed as "primary brain tumor" and treated. The mass was excised by craniotomy. At 34 weeks, she gave birth to a healthy female fetus by cesarean section. Although, convulsions during pregnancy is mainly considered as a symptom of pregnancy related hypertensive disorders; it should be kept in mind that this may also be a symptom of a primary brain tumor. In literature, generally craniotomy is offered to the pregnant women with brain tumors following pregnancy termination. Craniotomy for primary brain tumors can be considered in patients with desire to maintain their pregnancy and optimal pregnancy outcomes can be obtained.
