Abstract

Sixteen consecutive patients with mechanical ileus operated for sigmoid volvulus were evaluated for; age, gender, symptoms, physical and laboratory findings, coexistent disease, length of hospitalisation, additional necrosis, and type of surgical therapy. In four cases necrosis was present in sigmoid colon (25 %), and one (6.2 %) in caecum. Preoperative detortion failed in all cases. In four cases (25 %) laparotomy and detortion, in three cases (18.8%) detortion and sigmoidopexy, in seven cases (43.8 %) sigmoid resection and Hartmann procedure, in one (6.2 %) sigmoid resection and double barrell colostomy and detortion and right hemicolectomy was performed in one patient (6.2 %) with caecal necrosis.

Özet

Mekanik ileus nedeniyle öpere edilen sigmoid volvuluslu hastalar retrospektif olarak incelendi. On altı ardışık olgu yaş, cinsiyet, semptom, fizik muayene, laboratuar bulguları, eşlik eden hastalık, yatış süreleri, nekroz varlığı ve uygulanan cerrahi girişimler açısından değerlendirildi.
