Abstract

Pelvic floor disorders have an important role in the etiology of women s sexual dysfunctions. Pelvic floor weakness and organ prolapse are common conditions that negatively affect women s domestic, social, occupational and sexual life both physically and psychologically. Such problems as decreased orgasmic capacity, decreased libido, dyspareunia and decreased frequency of coitus can be observed in women with pelvic organ prolapse. Women with pelvic organ prolapse may abstain from sexual intercourse due to the fear of decreased sexual lure, urinary incontinence during sexual intercourse, fear of their altered anatomy and fear of their altered vaginal anatomy. İt is important to assess sexual functions in women with pelvic organ prolapse. Having at this problem, nurses have important duties in apporaces toward increasing the quality of womens sexual life.
