There was also no significant correlation between the urinary excretions of the constituents in the first morning and 24-h urine samples, therefore we suggest that the first morning urine samples can not replace the 24-h urine sample measurements.

Abstract

Objective: Previous studies indicate that normal values for urinary excretions of the constituents that are responsible in the pathogenesis of diseases like urinary stone disease, hematuria, reccurent urinary tract infection may vary according to age, sex, diet traditions in different regions. Reference values of the related constituents were not available for Turkish children. The aim of this study was, for the first time in Turkey, to determine the standart reference values for excretions of calcıum, magnesium, phosphate, uric acid and creatinine in the first morning and 24-h urine samples in 2-16 years old healthy children in Samsun region.Materials and Methods: A total of 203 children (88 girls, 115 boys), aged 2-16 years participated in the study. The relationships between the dietary intake and the urinary excretion of the minerals in the first morning and 24-h urine samples were investigated. Results: The 50p and 95p values for urinary excretions of calcium were 2.6 and 6.73 mg/kg/day; for magnesium 1.16 and 2.43 mg/kg/day, for uric acid 10.21 and 19.71 mg/kg/day, for phospate 19.21 and 37.11 mg/kg/day,for creatinine 20.61 and 29.58 mg/kg/day respectively. Asemptomatic hypercalciuria and hyperuricosuria were diagnosed in 3.4% and 4.4 %of children who were enrolled in the study respectively. Conclusion: There was no significant correlation between the dietary intake and the urinary excretions of the constituents. There was also no significant correlation between the urinary excretions of the constituents in the first morning and 24-h urine samples, therefore we suggest that the first morning urine samples can not replace the 24-h urine sample measurements.

Özet

Amaç: Üriner sistem taş hastalığı, hematüri,tekrarlayan idrar yolu enfeksiyonu gibi hastalıklarınpatogenezinde rol alan minerallerin idraratılımlarının, ülkelere, yaşa, cinsiyete ve diyetalışkanlıklarına göre değiştiği bildirilmiştir. Türkçocukları için ilgili mineral atılımlarını bildirir birreferans tespit çalışmasına rastlanmamıştır. Buçalışmada, Türkiye'de ilk olarak, Samsun ilindeyaşayan 2-16 yaş grubu sağlıklı çocuklarda 24saatlik ve sabah ilk idrar örneklerinde kalsiyum, magnezyum, fosfat, ürik asit, kreatinin atılımlarınınstandart referans değerlerinin belirlenmesiamaçlanmıştır.Gereç ve Yöntem: 2-16 yaşında 203 sağlıklıçocuk (88 kız, 115 erkek) çalışmaya alınmıştır.Söz konusu minerallerin diyetle alımları ve sabahilk idrar ve 24 saatlik idrar örneklerindekiatılımları arasındaki ilişki araştırılmıştır.Bulgular: İdrarda kalsiyum atılımı 50p ve 95p değerleri sırasıyla 2.60 ve 6.73 mg/kg/gün;magnezyum için 1.16 ve 2.43 mg/kg/gün; fosfatiçin 19.21, ve 37.11 mg/kg/gün; ürik asitiçin10.21 ve 19.71 mg/kg/gün; kreatinin için20.61 ve 29.58 mg/kg/gün idi. Çalışmaya katı-lan çocukların %3.4'ünde asemptomatik hiperkalsiüri,%4.4'ünde hiperürikozüri tanımlanmış-tır.Sonuç:Minerallerin diyetle alımları ile idrar atılımlarıarasında anlamlı ilişki gösterilememiştir. Minerallerinsabah ilk idrarındaki atılımları ile günlükidrarda atılımları arasında anlamlı ilişki gösterilememiş;sabah ilk idrarının 24 saatlik idrarınyerini tutamayacağı belirlenmiştir.
