Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine school attachment levels of secondary school students in terms of perceived social support and human value. The data of the study was obtained from a total of 317 secondary school students, including 192 girls and 125 boys in the 2015-2016 academic year. A correlational research model was used in this study. In the study, some scales are used as data collection tools as follows: School Attachment Scale developed by Hill and Werner (2006) and adapted to Turkish by Savi (2011), Moral Maturity Scale developed by Dilmaç (1999), Social Support Rating Scale for Children and Adolescents developed by Dubow and Ullman (1989) and adapted to Turkish by Gökler (2007). The correlation and stepwise linear multiple regression analysis are used in the analysis of the data. The analyses are tested with the help of SPSS 16.0 package program with .01 and .05 levels of significance. The findings of the research reveal that perceived teacher social support, perceived friend social support and human value are in the position of being predictors of the school attachment. Implications of these findings are discussed within the context of literature

Özet

Bu araştırmanın amacı ortaokul öğrencilerinin okula bağlılık düzeylerinin algılanan sosyal destek ve insani değer açısından incelenmesidir. Çalışma çerçevesindeki veriler 2015-2016 eğitim-öğretim yılında, 192 kız ve 125 erkek olmak üzere toplam 317 ortaokul öğrencisinden elde edilmiştir. Bu araştırma ilişkisel tarama modellerinden korelasyonel araştırma türündedir. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak Hill ve Werner (2006) tarafından geliştirilen ve Savi (2011) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Çocuk ve Ergenler İçin Okula Bağlanma Ölçeği, Dilmaç (1999) tarafından geliştirilen Ahlaki Olgunluk Ölçeği, Dubow ve Ullman (1989) tarafından geliştirilen ve Gökler (2007) tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Çocuk ve Ergenler İçin Sosyal Destek Değerlendirme Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerinin analizinde korelasyon ve aşamalı doğrusal çoklu regresyon analizi kullanılmıştır. Analizler bilgisayar ortamında SPSS 16.0 paket programı yardımıyla .01 ve .05 anlamlılık düzeyinde test edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları algılanan öğretmen sosyal desteği, algılanan arkadaş sosyal desteği ve insani değerin okula bağlılık düzeyinde yordayıcı konumda olduğunu göstermiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular alan yazın ilişkisinde tartışılmıştır
