Abstract

The aim of this post occupancy evaluation (POE) is to consider functional and perceptual-behavioral performance of polyclinic users. It deals with the effect of functional and behavioral quality on the perceptual and psychological well being of the patient. In that respect what is believed is that; (1) when there is no functional inefficiency and difficulties, the poor quality of space is not noticed; (2) on the contrary when the physical quality of space increased, existing functional inefficiency and difficulties are not very much stressed. For that aim, a total of 80 patients (40 male and 40 female), aged between 45 to 60, were recruited from four different clinic waiting halls of İbni Sina Polyclinic to understand the impact of spatial quality on its original users. Although extreme difficulties were not the case in terms of functional performances in general, waiting in the queue for a long time in some waiting halls with no daylight and natural air was found to influence the general image about the polyclinic negatively.
