Abstract

Today, multi-dimensional experiences are presented to visitors for different purposes through exhibition spaces, which are defined as communication and interaction spaces. In connection therewith, the exhibition design becomes more sophisticated and the requirements need to be constantly redefined. The design performance of the exhibition spaces requires the consideration of multidimensional and complex requirements during the preliminary and other stages of the design process. Therefore, it is necessary for the designer to identify and anticipate all requirements and control if they are provided during the application phase. Within the scope of this study, an analytical research was conducted in order to identify the criteria for increasing the design performance in terms of spatial requirements in the temporary exhibition spaces. As a method, literature studies were conducted at the international level by using the keywords “exhibition design”. In the next step, the criterion data obtained according to content analysis were categorized, analyzed and evaluated systematically on the matrix that is formed. Together with this study, a set of criterions for the interior design of the temporary exhibition spaces was created which can be used by the designer in the design process. The production of such works will significantly increase designer performance in exhibition design and ensure up-to-date continuity of knowledge and experience sharing for future designs.
