Abstract

Hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors which canarising from skin, mucosal surfaces and deep bodyparts such as muscles, bones and secretory glands. Inthe head and neck region they usually localized in theoropharynx and rarely in the nasopharynx. A 21-yearold female patient was consulted with nasal obstructionand frequent epistaxis. According to endoscopicexamination and magnetic resonance imaging study agiant hemangioma was detected that originating fromnasopharynx and extending to hypopharyx. Absolutealcohol(ethanol) was used as sclerosing agent in thetreatment because of the size and localization of thetumor and the lesion regressed after treatment. 18months follow up examination of the patient revealedno sign of recurrence.
