Abstract

Today, advances in information and communication technologies have made several business branches move their business to computing environment. Profession of accounting is one of the fastest business branches that adapts to digital transformation. Giving right decisions in this digital transformation is very important in terms of both productivity and customer satisfaction. In general terms, the software selection issue, in particularly the choice of accounting software, is a complex multi-criteria problem. One of the outstanding methods that is used for solutions of multi-criteria decision problems is the analytic network process (ANP) method. ANP is an efficient decision making method in which the feedback among the internal and external dependencies the digitalized criteria and the criteria that are difficult to digitalize are analyzed. In this study, it was aimed to determine the most suitable alternative for selecting the most appropriate accounting packet program by considering a set of three main criteria, and 16 sub-criterion. The method for the study relies on determining the weights of criteria as a result of a survey that is done among accounting professionals and the analysis of obtained criteria weights by ANP method. In this study, six different accounting software alternatives are evaluated by using the method of ANP and the best alternative has been determined.
