2.trimestrdeki gebelerde maternal serum Alfa fetoprotein, HCG ve Unkonjuge Estriol kullanarak tarama yapılması Down sendromlu fetusların % 67'sinin saptanmasını sağlamaktadır. 650 normal gebede her üç test çalışılarak daha sonraki Down sendromu taramasına referans olmak üzere her üç testin her gebelik haftası için median değerleri bulundu. Bu çalışmanın sonuçları bir ön rapor olarak sunulmaktadır.
