Abstract

We report a 43 years old, male, type II diabetic patient who presented with polyuria and polydipsia increasing for the last three months. Central partial diabetes insipidus was diagnosed. The coexistence of diabetes mellitus (DM) and diabetes insipidus (Dl) occurs almost always as DIDMOAD Syndrome (diabetes insipidus, diabetes mellitus, optic atrophy, deafness) in childhood. However the coexistence of non-insulin dependent DM and Dl in adults is uncommon. Excess or increasing polyuria in diabetic patients may be a sign of the addition of DI on DM.
