Abstract

This study is aimed to evaluate the dysfunctional uterine bleeding (DUB) cases who were hospitalized and treated in our clinic. METHOD: This study was done retrospectively on the 22 adolescent DUB patients who were hospitalized at the Çukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic between 1.8.1999 and 31.7.2001. RESULTS: The mean age of the patients was 14.2, and the mean of menarche age was 13.The results of the hematological values were as follows; Haemoglobin:7.0 gr/dl, Haematocrit: 21.5 %, Thrombocyte: 296272/mm3, Fibrinogen:318 mg/dl, PTZ:15.3 sees., PTT:29.4 sees. Fourteen of these patients had blood transfusion. The mean hospitalization time was:7.2 days. CONCLUSION: DUB is a major problem during adolescence when there is not an organic pathology. Severe DUB is diagnosed with the hematological parameters and, blood transfusionand high dose estrogen therapy are the main therapeutical modalities.

Özet

AMAÇ: Kliniğimizde yatarak tedavi edilen disfonksiyonel uterin kanamalı olguların değerlendirilmesi. YÖNTEM: Çukurova Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Kadın Hastalıkları ve Doğum Anabilim Dalında 1.8.1999- 31.7.2001 tarihleri arasında yatarak tedavi edilen 22 adolesan DÜK olgusu retrospektif olarak çalışma kapsamına alındı. SONUÇLAR: Olguların yaş ortalaması 14.2, menarş yaşı ort. 13 idi. Hematolojik ortalama değerleri ; Hb:7.0gr/dl, Hct: % 21.5, Trombosit:296272/mm3, Fibrinojen:318 mg/dl, PTZ:15.3sn., PTT:29.4 sn. idi. 14 olguya kan transfüzyonu yapıldı. Olguların hospitalizasyon süresi ortalama:7.2 gün idi. YORUM: Organik patoloji yokluğunda tanı konan DÜK, adolesan dönemin önemli sağlık sorunlarından biridir. Hematolojik kriterlerle belirlenen ağır DUK'ların tedavisinde kan transfüzyonu ve yüksek doz östrojen tedavisi yer almaktadır.
