Abstract

Journalism is a profession often open to criticism, because it should have a higher responsibility in the understanding of social ethics and relating them to the news stories. In this text, it is argued that to be a virtuous journalist, following the basic rules is not enough, but it is the continuous search for being a more virtues journalist that is required. The concept of Parrhesia of Euripides is the re-explanation of journalism based on principles of telling the truth and relating emotional feeling. Modern living tends to omit the important emotional part of life and the modern person tends to ignore emotions and becomes emotionless, in a way. However, from Socrates time up to today, many people argue that the most important part of a person is his emotional side. This work contrasts these two different and important points of view, to reunderstand what is meant by the journalism’s virtue.
