Bu çalışma, tiroid ameliyatlarından sonra rutin dren kullanılmasının gerekli olup olmadığını araştırmak amacıyla gerçekleştirildi. Çalışmaya tiroid operasyonu geçiren 117 olgu alındı. 59 olguya dren konuldu, 58 olguya dren konulmadı. Hiçbir olgumuzda majör komlikasyon gözlenmedi. Dren konulan 9 (%15.2) konulmayan 6 (%10.3), toplam 13 (%11.1) olguda minör komplikasyon gözlendi. İstatistiksel olarak her iki grup arasında anlamlı bir farklılık saptanmadı (p>0.05).
