Abstract

Objective: To compare the efficacy of raloxifene and risedronate monotherapies on bone mineral density and serum lipid profile. Materials and Methods: 100 healthy postmenopausal women with intact uterus and ovaries, who had their last menstrual period at least three years ago and who had no obvious vasomotor symptoms were included in the study. The half of the pa¬tients was treated with risedronate 5 mg/day and the other half with raloxifene 60 mg/day for six months. The groups were compared according to percent changes of bone mineral density and serum lipid profile at the end of the treatment period. Results: At the end of six months, it was observed that risedronate increased the bone mineral density at lumbar spine than did raloxifene (P

Özet

Amaç: Raloksifen ve risedronat monoterapilerinin, kemik mineral yoğunluğu ve serum lipit profili üzerindeki etkinliklerinin karşılaştırılması. Materyal ve Metot: Çalışmaya son âdet tarihinden itibaren en az üç yıl geçmiş, belirgin vazomotor semptomları olmayan, uterus ve överleri intakt, sağlıklı 100 postmenopozal kadın dahil edildi. 6 ay boyunca hastaların yarısına risedronat 5 mg/gün, yarısına ise raloksifen 60 mg/gün uygulandı. Gruplar tedavi sonrası, kemik mineral yoğunluğu ve serum lipit profili yüzde değişimleri açısından karşılaştırıldı. Sonuçlar: 6 aylık tedavi sonrasında risedronatın, lumbar vertebra kemik mineral yoğunluğunu raloksifenden daha fazla artırdığını (P
