Abstract

The purpose of this study was to assess the sucess of formocresol pulpotomy in primary molar teeth with furcation lesion clinically and radiographically. Formocresop pulpotomies were performed on sixteen mandibuler primary molar teeth of twelve children aged from 7 to 9 years. Teeth were fallowed for 1,3,6, and 12 months periods. All of the teeth were judged to be clinically successful in all control periods. Radiographically, furcation lesions were totally disappeared in 3 teeth after one month (25%), in 2 teeth after 3 months (16,6%) and in a tooth after 12 months (8.33%). However in six teeth no change was observed. As a result, it is concluded that formocresol pulpotomy in teeth with furcation lesion was successful clinically but was suspicious in 50% of the teeth radiographically
