Abstract

CMV infection may be asemptomatic or mild in postnatal period and in adults, whereas in cases of acquired or congenital immunodeficientcy, CMV infection can be fatal or cause severe infections. CMV virus infection can be recognized by clinic, virologic and immunological data. The typical features of histopathology, and the identification of the viral antigen by the immunological methods are diagnostic. In necropsies from a six month patients with combined immunodeficiency, immunohistochemical and histochemical methods, were shown with typical microscopic features of CMV.
