Abstract

In this study, we evaluated the potential relationship between postprocedural serum creatine kinase (CK) elevation and subsequent target vessel revascularization following coronary stent implantation in 400 consecuti¬ve patients. We also assessed the independent predictors of creatine kinase elevation after successful stent implantation. By multivariate analysis, postprocedural CK release was found to be a significant determinant of subsequent target vessel revascularization. The significant predictors of CK elevation by multiple logistic regression analysis are unstable angina, multiple stenting, and side branch occlusion.
