Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the 137 patients with the histopatological diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia retrospectively, according to types of hyperplasia and patientsÕ age groups. Institution: SSK Ankara Maternity and Health Teaching Hospital Material and Methods: We evaluated the records of endometrial biopsies with the diagnosis of endometrial hyperplasia, during the year 2002, retrospectively. Four types of endometrial hyperplasia are as follows: simple hyperplasia, simple hyperplasia with atypia, complex hyperplasia, and complex hyperplasia with atypia. The patients were divided into two groups according to their ages as follows: Group 1= below 50 years of age, and group 2= equal to or greater than 50 years of age. Types of hyperplasia were compared between the groups. Results: Of 108 patients in group1, 95(88%) had simple hyperplasia, 7(6.5%) had complex hyperplasia, and 6(5.6%) had complex hyperplasia with cytologic atypia. Of 29 patients in group 2, 15(51.7%) had simple hyperplasia, 6(20.7%) had simple hyperplasia with cytologic atypia, 2(6.9%) had complex hyperplasia, and 6(20.7%) had complex hyperplasia with cytologic atypia. Conclusion: The percentages of both simple and complex hyperplasia with cytologic atypia are significantly higher in group 2, when compared to group 1(Chi-square=32.06, p<0.005 ).

Amaç: Histopatolojik tanısı endometrial hiperplazi olan 137 olgunun retrospektif olarak yaş grubu ve hiperplazi tiplerine göre değerlendirilmesi. Çalışmanın Yapıldığı Yer: SK Ankara Doğumevi ve Kadın Hastalıkları Eğitim Hastanesi Materyal ve Metod: 2002 yılında hastanemizde endometrial hiperplazi tanısı almış olan hastaların probe küretaj kayıtları değerlendirildi. Hiperplazi tanıları basit,kompleks ile atipili basit ve atipili kompleks hiperplazi olmak üzere dört grupta toplandı.Olgular 50 yaş altı (1.grup) ile 50 yaş ve üzeri (2.grup) olmak üzere iki gruba ayrılarak sonuçlar iki grup arasında karşılaştırıldı. Bulgular: 1.gruptaki 108 hastadan 95’inde (%88) basit hiperplazi, 7’sinde (%6.5) kompleks hiperplazi, 6’sında (%5.6) atipili komplek hiperplazi mevcuttu.2.gruptaki 29 hastadan 15’inde (%51.7) basit hiperplazi, 6’sında (%20.7) atipili basit hiperplazi, 2’sinde (%6.9) kompleks hiperplazi, 6’sında (20.7) atipili kompleks hiperplazi mevcuttu.
