Bu çalışmanın amacı fen ve sosyal bilimler alanlarında yapılmış okunabilirlik kavramı ile ilgili araştırma sonuçlarının etkinliklerinin karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmesidir. Araştırmada öncelikle Türkiye’de yapılmış okunabilirlik çalışmaları incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme sonucunda akademik çalışmalar okunabilirlik formüllerini uygulama ve formül geliştirme şeklinde sınıflandırılmıştır. Doküman incelemesine dayalı olarak yapılan bu araştırmada fen ve sosyal bilimler alanlarından dörder olmak üzere toplam sekiz çalışma incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgulara göre hem Türkçe için geliştirilen okunabilirlik formülleri hem de yabancı bir dilden Türkçeye uyarlanan formüller okunabilirlik düzeyi açısından tutarlı sonuçlar vermemektedir
