Abstract

This study aims to determine the mediating effects of Syrian refugee students' attitudes towards the science course on alienation from school and their attitudes towards science course activities. The sample consists of 347 Syrian refugee students attending 7 different schools in Ankara province. The data were obtained through the survey method. Frequency analysis, reliability analysis, normality test, correlation analysis, factor analysis, and hierarchical regression analysis were conducted. The results showed that students' attitudes towards the science course had a partially mediating effect on school alienation and towards the activities in the science course. It is hoped that this study will make significant contributions to the literature and other practitioners since there has been no previous study on the issue.
